I don't know if it's a boy or a girl.
If you have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
Boy;
Marlon Robert Franco
Benjamin Alan Franco
Girl;
Lizette Noel Franco
Camilla Arielle Franco
Adriana Rose Franco
Felicia Nicole Franco
Chloe Adele Franco
Christina May Franco
What do you think of the baby names I chose?
Love Benjamin Alan, such a classy combo and Benjamin is so handsome. For a girl I'm torn between Christina May and Camilla Arielle, both are just lovely. Chloe is also one of my favorites, it's spunky and fun and it flows very well with Adele. Very nice names!
Reply:I prefer Benjamin to Marlon.
As for the girl's names, Lizette and Felicia are so dated.... I think that Adriana Rose goes best with Franco.
And if you are from Spanish descendency (due to the name Franco), have you considered a more spanish like name for the boy?
I hope your baby is lovely, healthy, and bright! As every Mom expects!
Peace %26amp; luv!
Reply:I'm not really fond of the ones you picked for the boy, but here are some I like-
Collin James
Isaac Robert
Aidan Cole
And for the girl, i really like the name you picked, Chloe Adele.
Real cute. (:
Reply:for boy try
Brandon Alan Franco
Tristan Cole Franco
Chris John Franco
Kyle Braidy Franco
Jimmy Matt Franco
for girl i like
Camilla Arielle Franco
Chloe Adele Franco
Christina May Franco
Reply:Boy:
Benjamin Alan Franco
Girl:
Adriana Rose Franco
Reply:I love Robert and Alan after your father! I'm not a big fan of Marlon, however.
Camilla Arielle is just too cute! And I like Cristina May as well!!
Reply:Benjamin Alan Franco
or
Adriana Rose Franco
Reply:Benjamine Allen better spelling
Felicia ut I would use adele with it
Reply:I like Benjamin and Adriana (:
Reply:I like Camilla Arielle :)
Marlon is really unique!
Reply:Chloe Adele is perfection.
Reply:I like Benjamin and Camilla. :]
Reply:i like Benjamin and Felicia (:
Reply:I like Benjamin Robert Franco and Chloe Adele Franco
Reply:Adriana Rose Franco.
Austin Wayne Franco?
Reply:benjamin/christina would be my picks!
Reply:i like Benjamin Alan and Chloe Adele
Reply:I love Chloe and Felicia. Not too hot about the boys names you picked though
Reply:Boy;
Marlon Robert Franco - 6/10 - It's okay but nothing special. Marlon reminds me of the fish in finding nemo. How about Mason Robert Franco? that would be a 10/10!
Benjamin Alan Franco - 8/10 - It's a very common name, but Benjamin is really classy and gorgeous for a boy. Can go by Benji as a little boy, Ben as he gets older and Benjamin as an adult. Very nice! Alan goes pretty well.
Girl;
Lizette Noel Franco - 4/10 - I'm not a fan of Lizette because its a bit old-fashioned to me, and Noel sounds like a boys name, im sorry. But together they do sound quite nice. I also like Lizabeth instead of Lizette? you may want to think about that option..
Camilla Arielle Franco - 7/10 - I love Camilla but Arielle wrecks the name. Definately go with Camilla Rose Franco - that 10/10... I love that Camilla can be the name of an adult easily, and Millie is a suitable nickname for when shes young.
Adriana Rose Franco - 9/10 - I like this name a lot, butnot as much as Camilla Rose. Adriana reminds me of the drug addict from 90210, but i wouldnt worry about that because no one really watches that anyway! Other than that association, its a lovely name. But i can think of any cute nicknames.. Maybe Anna? idk..
Felicia Nicole Franco - 1/10 - Okay i hate the name Felicity so Felicia doesnt do it for me either. Its very pretentious and makes me think of a spoilt brat. Im sorry to be so harsh, but your other names are much nicer than this one. Nicole is OK.
Chloe Adele Franco - 7/10 - This is a nice name but nothing i would rave about. Its simple and sweet but not beautiful and unique like i would name my child.
Christina May Franco - 6/10 - (Comment same as the above name)
Suggestions: Chase Robert Franco; James Alan Franco and Dahlia Mae Franco.
Congrats and Good Luck,

The question says it all. The one who has the nicest bunch of celebrity baby names (they don't have to be relatively normal at all) will get the 10 points.
I'm curious to be honest, to see what people think on a whole of celebrity baby names.
Any questions just ask

http://www.behindthename.com/
It's run by a certified etymologist, and is the only common use website I know of that is. It also has fun and helpful features like message boards, interactive polls, an accurate name translator, a comprehensive search function (that can search by name, meaning, or description), and much more.
I also recommend http://www.namenerds.com/uucn/advice.htm...
While their actual name section is lacking (as it is contributed by lay folk and is, therefore, quite inaccurate) the advice section is well thought out and has informative discussions on naming trends, the pitfalls and advantages of unique/common names, and a manifesto on why one should take their baby name book/website with a grain of salt.
Reply:http://www.behindthename.com/
This is one of the most reliable sites for name meanings. It also has great name lists (so you can search for French names, Indian names, Ancient Roman names, Celtic Mythology names, and much more). Additionally, there's a section that lists the 100 most popular baby names for numerous countries.
http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
This is the US Social Security website where you can get the top 1000 baby names for any year since 1880. It's great to browse for inspiration, and you can check to see how popular a name is before you give it to your child.
http://www.nymbler.com/
On this website, you can enter up to six names you already like and it will suggest others in a similar style.

http://www.namenerds.com/uucn/advice.htm...
This is my favorite website for middle name suggestions (the first link). It arranges them by number of syllables and where the syllable stress falls, so you can be sure to find something that flows nicely with your chosen first name. The rest of the site has other useful articles and advice (the second link). I particularly like the article on suggestions for less common replacements of trendy names.
http://www.babynames.com/
My favorite feature of this site is that it lets you create a namelist of your favorite first and middle combinations that other people can vote on.
http://appellationmountain.net/
My favorite baby name blog. While it doesn't feature every name, it's a great place to look for inspiration if you are looking for something less common but still usable. The writer goes in-depth about the history of the names, famous people who have borne the names, and how the names are likely to be received today.
Good luck, and I hope this helps!

I love names you can shorten! Like Jack or Jack Jack. Sam, Ben.
When we chose or kids names we gave them a name we liked and also a name of one of our parents. It's a way to honor those we love and admire. You don't have to use a parent, it could be anyone! For instance, our son, Jackson David...we love Jackson and David is my husbands father. Then our daughter, Laura Avery, Laura for my mother and we loved Avery for a girl. Thought it flowed a little better in that order.

Anyone have a link to a list of approved baby names in Germany?
Im just curious thank you!
Anyone have a link to a list of approved baby names in Germany?
http://www.vorname.com/
is a better link.
The site is in German but you shouldn't have a problem cuz it's got an easy structure.
Good Luck!
Reply:There is no "official" list - you can choose almost any name - u might have to prove that this name exists.

This site is the official statistic list of the most common and most favourite baby names of 2007, there are also several lists of favourite baby names since 1890. The site is in German, but I think you can easily understand the names in the list ;-)

Why people like unusual, modern names for their babies?
is it the influence of movies and shows?
I mean, all babies are Addison, Maddison, Caydence, Hycianth, Jaden, Damon, McKenzie....what's up with that? How about some good, ol' names.
Why people like unusual, modern names for their babies?
It's the influence of change, life and higher consciousness. When people have more words to use and more imagination, then more funky names come to the forefront.
Of couse it could be just the opposite. What was Gweneth thinking when she named her daughter "Apple?" Maybe she dyed her hair a few too many times and fried some brain cells. Maybe what she really meant was "Abbey," but it came out "Apple."
She really gives us blondes a bad name.
I also think its part of our indivdualistic society. The "I gotta be me," attitude. I was blessed with a far out hippie name and a friend of mine from Germany told me that would be illegal in her country. Apparently there's a list and names gotta be approved by Hitler, I mean the government.

Reply:I am getting ready to have another baby myself and I want a un comman name for her. I don't like names you hear everyday, that's what makes a person stand out. For example, my 6 year old's name is Jewelia wich is another form of Julia but we changed the spelling to make it unique. Report Abuse
Reply:When we named our two sons we gave them classic names.
Now at their school they have the most original names.
There is a ton of Austin's , Ian's and Jadens. My boys are the only one's with their names. Report Abuse
Reply:I think its best to come up with new names me myself my name is Jennie how many people have that name millions but I have 2 daughters my youngest I named Jayla Tesha' and my oldest I named Alexia Renee' I think those are both unique names Report Abuse
Reply:My mom named me Lyanne. Lee-ann.
sorta like Lynn or something of that sort, but pronounced differently.
i like it, no one else has it. if so, then really barely.
i think people like unusual names because everyone has those normal ones.
like Christina, Britney.
why be normal? Report Abuse
Reply:MY GIRLS NAME IS DANESSA. Report Abuse
Reply:I think more unique names help us grow as a civilization and we are more open minded. It is 2007 and not 1950 Report Abuse
Reply:Personally if there is one more Jane, John, Lisa, Jennifer, Michael, Steve, Tim... I would puke. Some names are way too over used, and people with the same names used over and over again in their families need to stop. Let people be individuals. Report Abuse
Reply:I think it is simply because of all the pressure. All the celeberities have unusual STAGE NAMES, and everybody wnts their little baby to grow up to be famause Report Abuse
Reply:,I chose names based on their meanings and the individuality of the name, during school I had to share my name with others and felt I was one of a pack of girls named Karen, also kids with different names instantly have something to talk about when meeting new people. Report Abuse
Reply:I think it's a shame. Parents want to try to show off their 'originality' and cleverness w/ naming their kids. I mean these are people; they have to live with the stupid names their overly inspired parents gave them.
If parents want to express themselves, why not take up a pottery class? Report Abuse
Reply:I've been in "unique baby name" mode for quite some time now; odd, considering I'm probably years away from fatherhood. I sometimes marvel at how many Mikes %26amp; Daves I meet in a year. I want my children to have names that distinguish them from the rest of the bunch, without sounding too ridiculous. Report Abuse
Reply:The normal names are boring and trite. My favorite girl names are Skye, Riana, Sierra, Jasmine, and Tammy. My favorite guy names are James, Tristan, Tommy, and Sammy. Report Abuse
Reply:To me, the most annoying thing is unusual spellings of common names. My mother, a former substitute teacher, encountered a plethora of bizarre names that actually weren't so strange out loud: Sharlet, Cebrene, Alyxandr, and (my personal favorite) Zhoshwa! Report Abuse
Reply:Try this for a boy's name - "Kleve" it is different, and can't be chopped up as in Mike for Michael. It is a German surname, but I like it as a first name. Report Abuse
Reply:Modern culture is more focused on the individual--even though "uniqueness" is now its own conformity! Basically, people like to feel they're special---so of course their children are even more special---and one's name is a pretty crucial element of one's identity! Report Abuse
Reply:Be careful what you name your kid...they have to use it their entire life...
Or when they reach legal age to change it to something less humiliating or stupid Report Abuse
Reply:A rose is a rose...so what is really in a name? Well the only point I want to make is this...if you give your child a name that is almost impossible to spell when someone hears it or almost impossible to say when you see it written....be prepared for life long misunderstandings. Report Abuse
Reply:Ugh, does this bug me. Especially the traditional names with new spellings are just ridiculous. Had a friend name her daughter Renay(what is wrong with the usual spelling Rene). Sets them up for a life of misspellings and corrections. My name is Joe and I think I am pretty original. Report Abuse
Reply:well because we have more illegal people here or there just got off the boat so that is why you dont see Normal names anymore....People dont want American names for there kids...what a shame.. Report Abuse
Reply:Maybe some people like different names, now i wont go off and name my child Apple, but Addison of McKinze are cute Report Abuse
Reply:I think the different name game it boring, old and stupid. Can some PLEASE pick up the tradition and name your kid after a great uncle, aunt, cousin etc. Report Abuse
Reply:Guy in my hometown, owned a gas station; his name was Nick Hood...had a daughter.

I'm sorry, but that's downright nasty! Report Abuse
Reply:When it came time to name my sister's twins I suggested Deniese for the girl which everyone liked. But when I suggested Denephew for the boy they all looked at me kind of strange. Report Abuse
Reply:Well, but there are limits here too. For instance, you can't put a number in a kid's name (unless you spell it out with letters). Report Abuse
Reply:HA! I'm a Pam and named after my mom who is a Pam...Its so generic. My daughters are Malori, Baylee and Rylie, I saved the "generic" names for thier middle names. Report Abuse
Reply:Well atleast no one ( that i know of ) names there kid pudd'n or pie! Report Abuse
Reply:People are bored with their lives so they take it out on their offspring! Report Abuse
Reply:Ohhhh my goodness...don't get me started.
If people are going to give a child a normal name, they shouldn't spell it WRONG...cleothemuse is right about those crazy names. They are all big red flags saying: "My parents are uneducated trash." Report Abuse

It's not that I don't like the names Madison or Emma or Aiden, it just that I don't want my kids growing up having to be called Madison B or Emma T or Aiden R becasue there are so many of them in their class they can't just be known as Madison, Emma and Aiden.
Modern names...well those are necessary. We can't always have the same old like Michael, Elizabeth and Thomas. What a boring world!
We named our daughter Peyton Alexis. Yeah, it might be modern, it' not an unusual name, but it fits her to a T! I can't imagine her having a name like Jennifer or Molly or something common and old fashioned. It just wouldn't be right.
So That's What's Up With That!
Reply:It is natural for names to come in and out of popularity.
As for "unusual" spellings, it's a vain attempt to make a common name less common, that usually end up causing grief for everyone because of mispronunciations and misspellings. The names still end up being pronounced the same in the end anyway.

I think most modern names right now are starting to sound very 80's and that traditional backlash has already begun with lots of little Jacks and Henrys and Abigails or Hannahs being born. Those names are already very trendy. And of of course Jacob, Emily, Emma are still top names.
Reply:Because "Good ole' names" are just annoying when you grow up, For me I hated it cause I have the most common name JESSICA and I hated when they said Jessica and wasn't talking to me! when you have a name no one really has (My son Korbin Fox) He won't have that sort of problems :-)

Reply:i think because there are sooo many of one name people want their children to be unique and a unique spelling can help with that. Their name becomes part of who they are and their personality.

I think the names come and go in cycles. Those names were very popular 50 years ago, and they are starting to be popular again. I think people like to try to be original with the names and the wacky spellings. I just feel bad for the kids, they are the ones who are going to be carrying that name forever!

Kaleigh Christine
Peyton Rose (Rose is my grandmother's name)
Brooklyn Paige
Tennison Layne (My husband wants this one and I love it)
Tanner David (David is my paternal grandfather's name)
Kassel Lambert (after our grandfathers)
I know we're not going to have 6 kids but I like these names. I also like Maycie and Colton. I like fun names. Some people name their kids after friends or family members no matter how wacky they actually are. It's okay they kids can blame their parents years down the road for their embarrassing names and turn right back around and do it to their kids.

Apparently there's a list and names gotta be approved by Hitler, I mean the government.

i want there names to be out there and everyone be like wow cool names ... that like saying kids being kids .. parents will be parents and name them what they want . . they would proabably name it dog **** and might love it .. its there personality ..
Reply:Unusal names, in my opinion, are way better than really popular commonly used names.
Reply:I agree! I'm so sick of all those names. they seem to do it to be different but it's now backfired. Their kids go to preschool and they're in a room with three or four other Jaydens or Sadies or Neavehs or whatever. %26gt;sticks finger down throat for emphasis%26lt;
Reply:Names go in cycles. Flower names like Hyacinth are actually pretty old-fashioned.
Reply:because a name is who and what u are for the rest of ur life! i picked unique names for my son and daughter and their names not only have meanings they fit their personalities just right.
Reply:Maybe people our trying to give their kids a fresh start which sounds funny but I have a cousin that teaches and she named her boys unique names because in her career she had so many problems with kids with some of the good ol' names that she didn't want anyone to have preconceived notion as to who her kids are they are their own little individuals just like my daughter Kylie who was not named after Kylie Monigue
Reply:i think because there are sooo many of one name people want their children to be unique and a unique spelling can help with that. Their name becomes part of who they are and their personality.
Reply:I named my kids Abigail and Jackson.
I think the names come and go in cycles. Those names were very popular 50 years ago, and they are starting to be popular again. I think people like to try to be original with the names and the wacky spellings. I just feel bad for the kids, they are the ones who are going to be carrying that name forever!
Reply:Different people like different names. It's just personal taste and preference.
Personally I like some "trendy" or "modern" names...my sons are named Dylan, Jaden, and Avery, and I have daughters with the names Ryleigh and Rowan. When I named Dylan and Jaden those names weren't nearly as trendy as they are now. I also like traditional names...I also have daughters named Amelia and Emma.
What's the "thumbs down" for? I was simply expressing my thoughts/opinion.

We gave our children three names - some have said it helps deter identity theft (I don't know if it is true or not), but mostly because we liked so many names.
Our son's first name is Benjamin, but his middle names are very different.
Our daughter's first name is Hannah, but her second middle name is a little different.
To each their own, I guess.

Reply:Ya, I don't know why but that kinda irks me too.
My lil bro and his wife had a baby recently and named him Austin. It's not a terrible name or anything, but I don't think I'd ever name one of my kids after a city.
"Hey, this is my son, Oshkosh!"
Reply:I remember when I was little, I always wanted things that had my name on them. Keychains, pencils. bike license plates or whatever and nobody made them with my name. There was always Jenny and Heather, but never Marisa,
I remembered feeling left out until I got to school and I could just be called Marisa, not Jenny K or Heather P. When people talked about Michelle, you always had to ask which one? Maybe parents are trying to avoid that.
Reply:I love coming up with creative or interesting names for kids. I already have a list of like 6 names to choose from when my husband and I have kids:
Reply:I wanted to avoid the Jennifer problem with my daughter. For my son its actually a very common name or at least was when i was growing up, but it seems that the Dylans and stuff have moved it to a less common name. No clue what I'm going to name #3 because me and hubby can't agree on anything. I am looking to name list form the 50-80's because they are not used as much right now. I am also trying to avoid a name that a member of my family has which knocks out about 40 names i like.

Reply:The reason why I like unusual and modern names is because I want my kid to have a name that no one else has in their class. A Name that they can be proud to introduce themsleves and not have someone say Thats My Name Too. A name that it just for them. I know that there will be other people with that name but probably not three of them in their class. I would never name my kid something like Emma because its waaayyyy too popular. My kids names are:

There are some cool baby naming websites out there that list all kinds of names, and their meanings.
SOme names I like from the Bible are Jason, Ruth, Naomi, Elizabeth, Paul, Peter and Philip. I also love the name Tirzah even though it is a tad unusual. Miriam is pretty, too - both Tirzah and Miriam were characters in the movie Ben Hur with Charlton Heston. :)

For our next baby, we're picking between Aaron or Leah. There are lots of Biblical names, some of which are pretty mainstream that I would never guess would come from the Bible.
Reply:I have always been a fan of Seraphina...it was an order of angels. Sera for short. Elijah was a Hebrew prophet, I am always a huge fan of Noah.
However there are several sites you can go to for biblical names specifically, www.behindthename.com is a good one, www.biblicalbabyname, babynamesgarden.com
Good Luck and God Bless
Reply:When we have a son we hope to name him Malachi. My brother took Isaiah and Jesus and named his son Jesiah instead of Josiah. My daughter's name is Anaya which is technically a guy's name in the Bible (Anaiah was Ezra's priest). I also have another nephew named Titus and some friend's named their sons Silas and Ezra. My family is FULL of biblical names:
Samuel, Elijah, Isaiah, Jared, Steven, Jeremiah, Susanna, Naomi, Anna, Ruth, Michael
S girl names: Sarai, Selah, Samariah, Sapphira, Saron, Serah, Salome', Sherah, Shelomi, Shiloh, Sia, Shia
Hope this was helpful! xx

What are your least favorite baby names?
The ones you hear over and over again. The ones that make you cringe and think "poor kid." The ones you wish were never invented. Or at least just don't like.
What are your least favorite baby names?
bananano - that sound touching, and I wish I were like that, but that's just not me
I don't really like the names Albert and Alberta. Although I've never met anyone with those names.
I wouldn't really think 'poor kid', I mean, a name is basically only what you go by, it doesn't define your personality or anything.
Reply:my name is ashley....at least once a day i am in a situation where someone says "hey ashley" and at least three heads turn....gets a little irritating...
ive never been fond of the name Mckayla or however you want to spell it. i just dont like the way it sounds....
im also getting a little annoyed with the name hunter....partially because it reminds me of a guy i went to school with that i was never fond of, and partially because it just doesnt quite sound like an actuall name to me.
Reply:conrad markus brandy kelly and all the stupid african names black people name their children like moodeshu how lame.
Reply:I find each and every name special and enjoyable as the person with whom the name belongs.
Reply:Turlock
Reply:Any name that starts with La! And famous people that name the kid Coco or Apple or Phineas or what ever Julia Roberts named her kid!
Reply:it doesn't make me cringe..... i actually think it's really cute.....but i know hundreds of girl babies who are named emma.
Reply:"LaQuiesha"
"LaTifa"
"LaTrece"
Anything made up like that.
Brittney, Jennifer, Tiffany, Mellissa, etc. too popular names.
Reply:Jack. No offence to any Jack's that come here but I think it's a horrible name to give a kid. The kid could get called Jackass or something.
Reply:Porsche, Mercedes anything that is usually associated with a brand- no matter how it's spelt.
Reply:the "unique" spellers. I understand wanting to make a general name a little unique, but there is a line!!! don't cross it!
Odyssy= Audyscie, I swear, I can't make it up
Ashlan= Aisling I had no comment
So many more, especially normal names that get hyped-up in their spelling.
Poor kids! They have to go through years of teachers/friends/collegues butchering their name because of "creative" spelling.
Sorry if I have offended any "creative" spellers out there. My daughter has a unique name, but it is simple!!!
And some names just aren't for kids. Like, Agatha, Edith, you know the names that only grandma's have. LOL
