Is it just me or does any one else dislike it when babies are given last names for first names?

You know-

Taylor

Tyler

Logan

Jackson

Parker

Carter

Madison

Connor

MacKenzie

you get the idea

Is it just me or does any one else dislike it when babies are given last names for first names?
Yeah, it bothers me too, even though most of the names on your list i don't consider to be last names.. too bad most names come from Surnames. lol
Reply:I would regard the majority of those names as first names moreover than a last name.

Now if you got something like Dalhausser or Phelps (yes I'm watching the Olympics) I might agree with you.

But I've met far more people with the first name of Logan or Tyler than the last name.
Reply:It's okay, I guess. But I really like the name Logan for a first name. It really doesn't matter... as long as it's not family!
Reply:No. All of those are great names for a child. My last name, Carroll, is often seen as a first name. I don't despise all the little Carols running around. That's just retarded.
Reply:Actually, I like ALL of the names you mentioned. And the following are most common as first names:

Madison

MacKenzie

Logan

Taylor

Basically, anything can be used as a first or last name.
Reply:I think they can be great choices if they have a strong personal link - a mother or grandmother's maiden name, for example.

It's not the kind of thing I'd choose out of the blue.
Reply:And what is your name, Sir?
Reply:yea i think that is a stupid thing to say..i may not like some names but i just do not name my kids those..it is that simple if a parent likes a name that is all that matters..and over half those name are great names that do not sound like a last name nor do i think of one when i hear them i thought you meant like johnson stevenson etc..
Reply:i don't like it too
Reply:I agree with you on

Jackson

Parker

Connor

those are all common last names, don't forget cooper
Reply:It does not bother me at all. I especially like it if the surname has some significance to the parents. Like the moms maiden or something along those lines.
Reply:I love most of those names. The ones I don't are just personal preference.... Who really cares about the origin of a name?
Reply:i like candy
Reply:No, not really.

There are some surnames that I think should stay as surnames, but the surnames Evelyn, Bellamy, Quinn and Avery are favourites of mine. I would have no problems in naming a little girl Avery Quinn, even though they're both traditionally used as surnames. I think the name sounds sophisticated and feminine, without being girly.

There are much worse trends out there: trendy, faddish names like Nevaeh (heaven backwards), purposely mispelling common names and simply 'making up' names. I would prefer to call my kid Carter than MaKeylea et al.
Reply:um noo.. ur weired
