Like if I name my baby "star liberty" will they turn out to be a stripper?
Do baby names determine profession later in life?
Yes oftentimes you will hear of like Tom Carpenter becoming a carpenter. I don't know if many first names are like professions though.
Do be warned about being taken seriously on job interviews. That is very true that some of them won't take you seriously if you have a less traditional name.
How about Connie Lingus?
Reply:Star Liberty is cool but Beautiful Big Bella! No female wants "big" in her name! Report Abuse

Reply:No but that's a trashy name and they will be called out on that their whole lives.
Reply:Not Technically, but it will be hard for them to find a job other than a stripper with that name don't make your child go through life with EITHER of those names
Reply:It's not the name it's the person who holds the name the determine success. I have and unusual name and I just made the best of it. I have my B.S. in Health Management and I work as an RN at a local hospital
Reply:That's the MOST trashy name i have EVER heard! Do not name your child that.
Reply:No the person decides profession but your never gonna meet a ceo named Bubba either. Hard for people to take you seriously with a name like that. Please dont name a baby Star Liberty though. She has to live with it for the rest of her life and in the workplace, people have to be taken seriously to move up.

no.
Reply:Actually, they've done studies that show that if you have a strong, traditional name you are more likely to be looked upon favorably in the job market then if you have a weird name like Starlight Destiny Express. I remember reading all about that kind of thing when I was looking for a job a couple of years ago.
So, it's less that it will affect your career choice, but it may affect how people treat you.
Name discrimation: it DOES exist!
Reply:No names dont determine profession.......
but if everyone keeps telling her that she should be a stripper with that name...then she may gravitate to it.
Reply:i doubt it......i think the way the child is brought up has an influence
Reply:A name doesn't determine much about a person, except perhaps how much they get made fun of at school because of their name.
