What are some good baby names?

My friend and I are arguing about whether old names like Arthur, Charlotte , and Eleanor are better/prettier then names new names like Indigo, Hazel, and Mackenzie. Which ones are better?

Actually, Hazel is an old name...





it seems these days, what is old is new again.





But there are a lot of modern names, like Indigo an Mackenzie being invented.





I think, that since old things come back into style again and again, they are more interesting than names that are "one hit wonders" or very trendy.





But better or prettier, I don't know.
Reply:THE OLD ONES AR BETTER!! well compared to the new ones you gave. i like the names that arent super old but not crazy weird. my favorites are (for girls) meredith, eliza, caroline, katherine,mary, elizabeth (plus, that has a lot of nicknames built in) i HATE color names (indigo makes me think of grapes and crayons and hazel of kelly clarksons song) and weirdo names like apple and stuff. for boys the really old names are good, like luke, charlie, john, patrick, james, matthew. mackenzie just isnt pretty. yes, the old ones are better!!
Reply:I honestly adore the old names! So creative, as a matter of fact.. I'm having a baby in 6 months and this question just supplied me with the name of my upcoming newborn, (which will be Eleanor) The new names are not original at all, I'm so sick of hearing those names, I want to revive the past!!

but other names i like are Savannah, Taylor, Marie, Malissa, Tashanti, Makel, Neveen, Asia, %26amp; Charidy...those names are so cute to me
Reply:I loooooove new ones. i like Gianna, Haley, and Hilary but the worst name ever is Maria. I hate that name so badly it is one of the worst. Who in the f***ing world would name their kid that!!!!!!!!!!! so yeah i would probably say new though! hope it helps!
Reply:Personally, I hate most common names.... I prefer something unique, something different than anyone else has! Of all you mentioned, Mackenzie is the only one I like but I wouldn't name my child that because its used enough!

Indigo is a color, so is Hazel, Rose, and Pearl.
Reply:Hazel I guess.....I don't like any of the first ones. or Mackezie. They are so common. But I also don't agree with names like Apple or Seven. Hahaha. My favorite baby name is Zara.
