What do you think of our baby names?

We don't know the sex yet but we've decided on Jackson Reid for a boy and Emily Claire for a girl. These names are pretty much set, so feel free to rip them apart and go wild, we just thought it would be fun to see what others think!

What do you think of our baby names?
I don't love either name, but I certainly don't hate them.





Jackson has been done to death. I do appreciate that it's spelled right, rather than horrid versions, like Jaxon, Jaxyn, or Jaxson. I like Johnson, John, or Jared a lot more than Jackson. Reid, I love. It's a cool, strong, simple name. I love the combinations Spencer Reid or Reid Calvin a lot more.





I personally find Emily very boring, and strongly prefer Amelia or Amelie over Emily. Claire flows well with it, and find it a nice middle name.

Reply:My name is Emily and i don't really like having it as a name. Don't get me wrong, Emily Claire is very pretty. I just think that there are to many Emilys' in this world.

Reply:I think they are fine choices. I am quite partial to Emily as that is our middle daughter's name. Her middle name is Louise, a family name, but I have always liked the name Claire. Jackson sounds great, too, will you call him Jack? Our neighbor's son is named Jackson, but they usually call him just Jack. We have friends with a son named Reid, but they spell it Reed. Can't say anything bad about the names. I bet it feels great to have that out of the way. We had a heck of a time naming our 4th child. We didn't know if she would be boy or girl until she was born.

Reply:OMG!!! I love them!! That would be really cool if Emily Claire was used as her first name just like this girl I know named Mary Jane. We sometimes shorten it to MJ but Emily Claire would be really pretty as if it was two first names. Great choice. Jackson Reid is easy on the eyes and to say. Also a great name because it won't be made fun of. Very strong and masculine name!! Good luck!!

Reply:Emily Claire is beautiful, timeless and elegant without being fussy or over the top. It's a sweet name and would be adorable on a child yet will age beautifully with the child





Jackson Reid is strong and handsome. Normally I prefer Jack over the somewhat trendy surname Jackson but Jack Reid does sound a bit abrupt
Reply:I really like Jackson Reid-- it has a strong masculine tone to it. I also like it because it isnt just a common " run of the mill" kind of name. It has the hollywood ring to it. =)





emily claire is really sweet and simple, but so elegant. The emily is a little common and a bit old fashion, but it has a nice ring when paired with claire. It makes me think of a dainty little ballerina type. TOO Precious ..





All in all, both are great choices, and it is refreshing to see someone who just doesn't care about others opinions and there judgemental cries of " its too trendy", "its to old fashioned" blah blah blah. The important thing is that YOU and Your S/O like the names, so more power to you!! lol

Reply:They are fine names (really nice actually) but Emily is insanely popular....like #1 for years. I prefer pretty and insanely popular to "unique/original" names any day though. Good choices.

Reply:I love Jackson Reid, because Jackson is one of my favorite boy names. Usually I can't stand the name Emily because it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAY overused, but it sounds and looks really pretty with Claire. I wouldn't mind it if you called her by her full name (Emily Claire).
