How do you feel about these baby names?

I want to name my first daughter Jovie (it means joyous) but it means a lot to me and my boyfriend really isnt that crazy about it, but he says he'll consider it if some of you say you actually like it so..I need your oppinions :D





I also like Monica and for a boy I like Jackson and Cole. What do you think?

Jovie sounds like a cute name. It's not the everyday Emma and Madison so it automatically scores points in my book! Maybe you could do Jovanna and call her Jovie for short? Jovie just sounds very "young" and it might not "grow up" with your daughter. And Jovanna is very beautiful. It means "majestic." Just a suggestion...





I like both Jackson and Cole but I can't help but think of Monica Lewinski (sp?) every time I hear the name Monica. It is a pretty name though. Maybe you could do Monica Jovie? Or Jovanna Monique (form of Monica)?

I like the name Jackson and Cole but I would choose Jackson. I had a friend named Monica and people kept calling her Monica Lewinsky, which she hated.
Reply:I think Jovie is beautiful and unique! Monica's ok, but I like the unusual. Jackson is cool...I know too many Coles to be enthusiastic about that one.
Reply:I think you should both write down four names you like for a girl and four names you like for a boy. Then compare them. If any of them are the same you should use that name for your child for sure.





For the names that aren't the same that you each like, you should pick one you like and one he likes for the first and middle names.





One way to do that is to agree before looking at each others name list, how you will pick which is first name and which is middle. Like say, for the boy, you would use the dad's favorite name for the first name and the mom's favorite name for the middle name. Or the other way around--or however you want to do it, but decide before you look at each other's favorite names.





If you just can't stand the first set of each other's names try it again until you both have something you can live with. Just remember, the child will have that name forever. : )

Cole? no way, to country. Jackson? that's a last name, no way!


Monica? Lewinsky? Just let your "boyfriend" take the name, you are not really good for this isue belive me. Peace.
Reply:Jovie is cute, but doesn't seem like a good adult name. I think it is adorable and i wouldnt let that stop me from using it if it were my favorite. I think Monica sounds like an older woman, but not like a little kid. Jackson is ok for a boy, I kinda like it. I am not a huge fan of Cole but it isnt bad.

Reply:jovie is a cute name and it has a very nice meaning. =) piece of advice, in naming a baby, make sure that you know the meaning of the name that you want to give because it will manifest in the life of your kid. the bible actually speaks of it.

Reply:I like Jovie and know someone that named their daughter that but I'm not sure how good of an adult name it would be you know? So maybe if you used it as a middle name or something like that. Jackson and Cole are both names that I have liked for boys for a long time. I don't really have an opinion either way with Monica.
Reply:I love Jovie. It is unique and has a nice ring to it. Maybe Monica Jovie if you use both but Jovie Monica doesn't sound good. Jovie Lee Pearl has a nice ring to it. My mom's name is Dovie Lee Pearl- I love Jackson Cole, just like that.

Reply:I like Jovie. It's pretty. It is different, but not so out there that it sounds weird. I think good middle names for Jovie might be Elizabeth or Marie. I don't care for Monica (pretentious), Jackson is ok, but will probably end up just "Jack" because it's an easy nickname. Don't care for Cole. I have a friend who just had a baby boy in Oct. She named him Kole Wayne. Like I said I don't care for it, but some people do.

Reply:Jovie huh? She might get teased. And if you replace the "O" with a "U" it will say "Juvie" (That's what it reminds me of.)!!Well its okay it doesn't neccessarily strike my fancy, however, Monica is very traditional and cute and KEPT SIMPLE! I like Jackson for a boy better than Cole.

Reply:I like it! The female character in Elf, her name was Jovie. It is nice because it is different yet easy to pronounce. Therefore in school your child will by the only child with her name, and no one can mess it up! And if your boyfriend isn't really that hot about the name Jovie just name her Monica Jovie.





Jackson kind of sounds like a last name but Cole is nice. Just remember you and your boyfriend need to be happiest with what you name your child!
