What are some baby names that you hate?

I really want to know if i'm the only one who thinks that some of the so-called modern names or unique names are just bad! And I do mean some, not all.

What are some baby names that you hate?
dirk, blane, derrick, rocky, all testosterone filled.
Reply:Unique names are great such as Jayden, Avery, and Jasper.

Nevaeh and Avery are almost never used so why are you saying they're over used?

This question is hurtfull and rude. Report Abuse

Reply:Nosmo King
Reply:Dakota (it is a truck) Hortense, Gertude, Lakisha, Donica, Melody.
Reply:Anything with "Mc" in front of it. It makes the kid sound like it you should be getting fries at the delivery.
Reply:Paxil! omg that's the dumbest name on earth! One preschooler on my bus is named that. Wasn't that a kind of medecine that had a side effect of making pregnant mom's babies deformed?
Reply:Some names I often wonder how the child is suppose to learn to spell them. Why would anyone make their child go though life correcting people on the pronunciation or spelling of their name. My mom changed the spelling of my name before I was 1 for just that reason.
Reply:McKenzie, Madison, Hunter, Savannah, Katelyn, Jayden.

I hate all presidential names. I hate all location names. I hate trendy names. I love classical names.
Reply:Rufus

Beotis
Reply:Jayden

Peyton

Reply:shaniqua, tawndra, and other silly black people names...
Reply:I have noticed: names are important to the child, it says who they are! Many children do not like their name, because they are teased by other children. Names that are long or hard to spell present a problem to the child, and others. They go through life having to spell and respell their name.

Boys named Tommy or Brian seem to have learning difficulties in school. Girls named Debbie often have hearing or visual problems.

Names that can be for a boy or girl often present problems too. Sometimes children feel unwanted when they have a name that is given to a boy or girl, they may think the parents wanted a child of the opposite sex.
Reply:The worst is Shaniqua. How could you do that to a kid?
Reply:Myrah
Reply:Jayden

Braeden

Cayden

Brody

Travis

Austin

Dakota

Madeline

Madison
Reply:It's bad enough thinking about the name you might marry into someday, it might be long as hell and take you years to spell it but having a crazy first name that you can't change? That's just calls for cruelty. I have to call people everyday at work (no I'm not a telemarketer) and I come across crazy ones that I can't even pronounce and I'm the one who has to ADDRESS them over the phone, yea make my job a lil' easier~! lol that's not gunna happen but anyway some of those people with crazy names can be up to 80 yrs so this must go way back. The only name I don't like and I'll have to agree with somebody on this is Angela (aka Angie). Have not met one that I could possibly like yet- must mean devil er somethin' haha j-k
Reply:Any type of name that is 12 or more letters involved. I'm sorry but imagine your child in preschool or kindergarten trying to spell their name and I don't understand people who would want to name their child Apple, Moon, Rocco or anything weird like that, Come on...sheesh.
Reply:Any name that is just totally spelled weird to just "be different" yet you have no clue as to what the heck the name really is! :-)
Reply:gertrude

Reply:I hate it when people use unnecessary y's in the childs name.

I don't like Isabella. Like 6 of my friend named their daughters that this year.

I don't like Amber either. I've never met and Amber I like.
Reply:Moon Unit

Circa 1967, Frank Zappa's daughter.

Doesn't get much worse than this.

Goofy names from goofy parents is nothing new.

I chose simple names for my three kids that they would never have to spell or explain to anyone.
Reply:Pennelope yuck, Pheobe, Hillary, Deborah, Hank, Peter,Jasper , Henry, Tobias(toby),
Reply:Peanut destroyer of worlds Johnson. ... That kid is going to be totally messed up.
Reply:Some names I think are a bit odd are the names of the months. Now I'm not talking about July,June,May,April I am just fine with those. I'm talking about January or other months.People really do name their children that its even on a baby names website.

But I must say that this question is rude and insulting to many. My name was listed as one of the many hated and you could give some people the wrong idea. If you had your name listed as one of the hated please do not change your name or be embarrassed about it. that is probably the worst thing you could do.

Your friend,

~Isabella~

i hate it.lol
Reply:I think they are stupid, like naming your baby "apple" or "blanket".
Reply:Any name given without though to it's meaning. Names were(are in some cases) given to the child for specific meaning and purpose. Often the name has a cultural or spiritual meaning to it.

Nowadays, people like names that 'sound good'.

On another note, a lot of names that people call 'modern' like Skylar, are actually very old. Old English, French, Irish, etc.
