How long have you had your baby names picked out?

Even though I'm only 15, I have some names for my children. I've loved these names forever (well, since I was about 8), so I definitely love them!

I've yet to find the perfect boy name(s), but I've got two for girls.

Lily Rose and Poppy Belle.

Like I said, I've loved them since I was a young child and I really want to name my daughter(s) either of these names - providing I have a girl!

How long have you had your baby names picked out?
since my husband and i started trying (a year and a half ago)
Reply:as long as i remember having dolls. i loved the names

christine, rachel, stephanie and shannon. i am adopting 4 children who where already named, i guess like a girls wedding you have it planned and when you cant do what you dream of it kinda sucks . my daughters name is emily and i changed her middle name to christine. so i guess emily christine is ok.
Reply:Good Luck!!! Just to remind you that the fathers help on name picking is important too and sometimes they don't care for some of the names we've do. My husband is an ongoing battle we are looking for a boy's name for our fourth little boy! He agrees on nothing that I like and no ideas of his own. Most important of all, please get the best education you can now to better help take care of those babies later!!!

Reply:I am not having kids anytime soon, but I already have names picked out. I always change my mind about what names I like, but right now I like Ava Lily, Vivienne Rose and Noah Alexander. But they will probably change in the future. But right now I really like them.
Reply:If you're only 15 you'll probably change your mind by the time you have babies. I used to like a lot of names when I was younger that sound ridiculous to me now. Tawny, Taimee... Can't even remember the rest. Plus they might not sound good with their father's last name.
Reply:Of course I have mine picked out but I am always looking for uncommon names. I haven;t chosen middle names though.

Rohiton for a boy

Sousha for a girl

and maybe Jonah for a boy although that is common
Reply:I like those names.

poppy's a bit strange but it's still nice.

i'm 15 also.

i don't have anything definite...

but i've certainly done my fair share of research when it comes to names!
Reply:I change my favorite baby names every year. I try to find names that aren't trendy, so they won't burn out when over-used. That is why I never, ever suggest my absolute favorite names to other people.
Reply:lol, i have loved baby names since i was like 7.

though, then i wanted to name a baby girl Slipper.

yeah, i was a crazy kid.

"come over here, slipper!..."

:]]
Reply:I like Lily rose but not Poppy belle though.

Same for me. I have names I automatically like but in this case I have guy names that I like though.
Reply:Lily Rose is two different flowers. Poppy sounds like a grandfathers name for his grandchild. I would rethink these names before you have a child. Maybe Lily Belle would go together better.
Reply:I am 15 weeks and haven't looked at names. I figured I would wait until I know if the baby is a boy or a girl, that way I only have to go down one list.
Reply:My kids names are

Ava Marie Tew

Charlotte Maureen Tew

Spencer Andrew Tew

Adela (we call her Addie) Danielle Tew

Mia Anne Tew

I love them all.

Reply:I've been picking out future baby names for a long time, but my favorites change every couple years. There are a few that have remained consistent.

Katherine has been my favorite girls' name for as long as I can remember (age 7 or so). I'm not sure if I'll use it, though, because it's pretty common, and I've recently become drawn to the more underused classics.

When I was in high school and college, I decided my first two daughters would be Katherine Grace and Lily Marguerite. I still LOVE Lily, but I've dropped it from the list because it, too, has become popular in recent years.

Right now, my top three girls' names are Clara (which is ALMOST as good as Katherine), Susanna (which means "lily"), and Violet (another flower name). I'm very happy with the replacements I found for Lily; in fact, I think I like them more. While I adore Clara (and so does my husband), I can't guarantee I won't change my mind at the last minute and name my first daughter Katherine anyway.

As far as boys' names go, I've loved Gideon since high school. It's still at the top of my list, though it clashes with my new last name. :( I've recently become quite fond of Julius and Alistair -- I'm trying to talk my husband into them, but he thinks they're too strange. Oh, well. We still have time.

Your taste in names will probably change a bit (and maybe a lot) over the next few years, and that's perfectly normal. You may still end up wanting to use Lily and Poppy when the time comes to have kids, or you may have found other names you like better by that time. You may get married and have the same situation as me where you really LOVE a name but can't deny that it clashes with your last name.
Reply:I really like your names! I'm the same way...I've had names that I've fallen in love with from forever ago and dream of using them for girls in the future. I find it really hard to come up with boys names too...maybe just because I'm a girl, who really knows...

Here are some of the names I've liked and how long I've liked them...there are probably a ton, I have a bit of a name obsession.

Lindley Alouette -- After a very important girl named Lindsay... she's wonderful. I probably haven't loved this one for super long, but a good 4 or 5 years... since I was about 10 I think... I'm 15 now. :)

Kaytryn Allegra -- I've liked this one for a while, too. After my cousin, Kaitlyn, who's just about the coolest person i know. I've liked this one a couple years longer than Lindley...

Those are the two main ones, but I used to really like...

Shepry

Krisalyn Emmeratta (what a mouthful, huh? they're both pretty, but both long...)

Henli (I still love this name)

There are a ton more, but I want to spare you from having to read a foot long list of names... heh :)

I hope you liked mine, and thanks for reading!

Amy
